A mechanics' lien may be filed within four months after the
 last work on the project.

A lawsuit against your insurance company usually must be
brought within one year of the loss giving rise to your claim.

The Pennsylvania Payment Act provides for the recovery of interest
and attorney's fees on some construction related disputes.

Treble damages and attorney's fees may be recoverable under the
 Unfair Trade Practices Act.

You may be liable to a subsequent purchaser for conditions
existing in your home at the time of sale.

An oral agreement may not be enforceable in certain circumstances.

Warranties of workmanship and habitability are implied in
some construction agreements, but may be waived.

Some construction defects are not subject to a one-year warranty period.

Payment in advance for work on your house is not required by law.
